Risan Media travels to the High Andes of Chile and Peru This Month on a Climate Change Documentary Film Project
Risan Media is traveling to Chile and Peru from March 21st-April 2nd to document climate change impacts on Andean glaciers and mountain communities and their adaptation.
We are joining Norwegian professor of climate change and glaciology, Dr. Sebastian Mernild, in the Olivares Basin in the High Andes outside Santiago, on his annual glaciological field research expedition on March 23-26th. We will helicopter to the glacier basecamp for 4 days. Dr. Mernild is the director of the Nansen Center in Bergen, Norway.
We are also documenting the work of The Mountain Institute’s USAID-funded Andes program called Securing Mountain Water and Livelihood in Peru’s Ancash region, home of the Cordillera Blanca.
We are honored to have the support of LATAM Airlines, SONY, Apple, RODE Microphones, Sachtler, Seagate, LC Peru, San Sebastian Hotel Boutique and the Huascaran National Park that have helped make this project a reality!
